Management and Accounting Software
for
MONDO CONDO is being transformed into a web application. The data will be stored on a web server
somewhere in cyberspace. Users will
access the data via the internet.
Managers will be able to update jobs while on a site walk-through using
their PDA or maybe even a cell phone. MONDO CONDO software updates will
automatically be downloaded to the computer, PDA or cell phone. Management companies will not have to worry
about server maintenance or data mirroring or SQL databases or backups. Managers may work from home or from their
business or a board meeting or a cruise ship, so long as there is a high-speed
internet connection available. As there
are more and more high speed wireless internet connections becoming available,
this web based solution will allow management companies to expand via
home-based managers rather than investing in additional office space.
The
list of software and features available on the web-based server is expensive and
complicated. By centralizing these on
the web, the individual management companies do not have to invest in this
hardware and software.
The
platform will be the successor operating system to Windows 2000/XP (code named
Longhorn). Programming will be done in
Visual Studio .net (the Whidbey version).
The central database will be MS SQL Server (the Yukon edition). The web application will be based on the
Indigo framework.
